Every song carries a story, yet its essence often fades beneath the layers of melody, rhythm, and harmony. Tasked with choosing a song with a compelling narrative and translating it into animation, I was challenged to listen with intent—unraveling the lyrics, uncovering their depth, and reimagining the story they tell through a visual lens.
The idea and the stills :
This 30 second hand-drawn animation explores ambition, illusion and lust leading to downfall. An ordinary man envisions himself as a king but as he reaches out to the illusion the mirror shatters, breaking into a sword that seals his fate. using visual metaphors and minimalistic storytelling to convey the idea of something you see that doesn't really exist . Reflecting the transient nature of power alining to songs core.
